Brian Revennaugh
Brian
Revennaugh bought his first aquarium at age seven at a local
dime store. The aquarium leaked and was returned to the store
the same day. He proudly set up his new tank with gravel, box
filter, and fish. The next day, all his fish were dead. This
event set in motion his desire to learn more about fish keeping.
After visiting his local library, he learned about things such
as dechlorinator, heaters, and the nitrogen cycle. He had
discovered that the art of keeping fish was all about knowledge.
Since then, the aquarium hobby has proved to be a continuous
learning experience. His interest in aquarium plants started
with his observation of them in a nearby creek.
He eventually started collecting them and placing them in his
tanks where he soon discovered that aquatic plants can harbor a
fascinating array of aquatic life. This fascination of living
creatures continues to this day.
Brian graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in
Biology. After graduation, he began his employment at Emory
University’s School of Medicine where he worked as a research
scientist for five years. He has been working for Emory
University’s School of Medicine for the past thirteen years. He
is currently a Senior Technical Project Manager for the
Department of Pharmacology and Emory’s Chemical-Biology
Discovery Center. Brian resides in Kennesaw, Georgia with his
wife Robin and their two sons, Ramsay, age seven, and Preston,
age six.
